Congratulations to Our Hounds for getting the ’19’ season off to a winning start, with a hard fought 2-1 win over a very difficult and physical opponent. Taking care of the scoring for the Hounds against Northwest, were Dillon on an assist from Rohan and Clark unassisted on a free kick bomb from midfield.
This week has the Hounds hosting U. City on Tuesday. Please note that the Varsity Contest is at 4:15. Next up, we will travel all the way to Maplewood and play MRH at 4:15, on Thursday.
A heartfelt thank you to Lisa Humphreys for taking the lead in organizing the post season banquet. The date has already been selected and is November 6th, in The Commons, from 6-8 p.m. Lisa could use a committee of folks to support her lead. Please e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org, if you are able to help.
We inadvertently scheduled two matches during Rosh Hashanah and will be playing in the CYC Tournament, on Monday and Tuesday, September 30th and October 1st. Please e-mail me directly if your son will not be available for those dates. Sorry about that.
Our tri-captains for the season are: Andrew, Clark and Rohan. These three young men are great leaders and will do an outstanding job leading The Hounds. They happen to be decent soccer players as well.
We will be reminding our players that our coaching staff is happy to discuss anything at all about their development as players or any personal issues for which they may need support. We have requested that any concerns about playing time be addressed outside of game time or immediately after any game. We have found that post game is not a good time to have those conversations. We always are available to talk before training or after.
I have looked at our schedule and I do not anticipate any Saturday training sessions. I did block some time at Gay for Sundays, 4-5:30 p.m. We won’t train every Sunday. September 15th has some student activities during that time slot, so we will train in the morning on the 15th from 0900-1030.
Also, any parents who need to contact me about anything, please e-mail me at email@example.com or text me at 314-600-3126. Respectfully, our new A.D. has a very full plate, so please give me the opportunity to help you with any soccer related business and If I am unable to help, I can refer you to Steve.
Thank you kindly for all of your Support.
