Multiple Teams · Mid-Summer Update from Coach McCord

I wanted to provide a midsummer update.  We have had a great turnout to summer practices.  Attendance has been anywhere from 24-34 girls at practice with a large showing from the freshmen class.  Coach Neuner has developed plyometric conditioning program for summer practices to help strengthen and condition athletes.  Practices to this point have been focused on skill and footwork with some game play mixed in.  Moving in to July we will start focusing on more specific skills, gameplay, and positioning. Starting this week, July practice times will remain the same, but we will now practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Also, we will host a camp on Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 2 from 12-2pm in the Stuber Gym for all high school athletes.  During the same week from 9-11am we will host camp for 6-8th graders. I am looking for a few returning high school players to help out at the middle school camp. If anyone is interested in volunteering, please let me know.

On August 22, from 5-7pm, we will have our event kick off to the season BBQ and parent meeting at the Enterprise Pavilion in Shaw Park. Our new Athletic Director, Steve Hutson, is planning on speaking at the BBQ. I am looking for a few parents to help coordinate this event as well as other events during the season. In the past, I have asked parents of junior players to help out.

Finally, this is a friendly reminder that the activities forms on eDocs and a current physical must be turned in prior to August 12th in order to participate in athletics this Fall.  Students will only receive an eligibility card clearing them for the season from the Athletics Office if both the completed forms and physical have been turned in.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Thank you,

Kyle McCord
