Girls Varsity Soccer · Girls Soccer – A Note from Coach Redmond 4/14/19

 Hello Good People!

What a great week for our Hounds! The coaches are so proud of how well the team responded after last weeks tough results. This week we were on the road for all three games. It was also a little rough because we played on fields that were less than ideal.

We picked up 3  W’s and got our record to over .500, at 4 and 3, and we are back in the hunt in the conference as well. After being tied at the half with U. City on Tuesday, the Hounds responded with 6 second half goals. Regan led the way with 3 goals and Paige had 3 assists. Eliza had two goals including a pk, and freshmen Olivia Tennill picked up her first high school win, in goal.

We came back on Wednesday at Hazelwood Central and played one of our better games of the year. Again, Regan and Eliza did the scoring in a 3-0 win. Nicky recorded her first full game shutout of the season and was very strong in goal.

We finished the week on another very bumpy and hard field at Hazelwood West. West was coming off a 3-1 win over McCluer North. The Hounds played their best full game of the season and came away with a 2-0 victory. The R’s provided the scoring…Regan and Ruthie. Our backs and keeper played great in tough field conditions and heavy wind. Kudos to Nicky, Sara, Devin, Angela, and Paige. Lauren W. had an amazing match and in the second half, Paige shutdown West’s dangerous goal scorer. It is important to note that everyone played a huge part in the three victories!!

We have a big week ahead with two tough opponents. We are at Parkway South on Monday, for a 6 p.m. match. South is the alma mater of Coach Lyndsey. Lyndsey will be pulling the strings for the Hounds on Monday…..we all want a W…..But Lyndsey REALLY wants the victory!!!

Then on Tuesday, we host our arch rival and District rivals, Ladue. The match is at 4:15.

Take care everyone.
