Multiple Teams · WINTER SPORTS – Transportation Issues


Dear Clayton,

As we head into Winter Sports, transportation continues to cause issues.

The district has helped by renting vans this fall, becoming a priority user with First Student and looking long term at possibly buying another bus, but until then we are trying to manage the situation the best we can.

As our options are LIMITED, we might have to start sharing a bus, shuttling a bus, renting vehicle(s) and lastly driving/carpooling to games.

All efforts are being made to avoid teams driving but we can only control so much as a Department.

We are already limited in some sports by officials availability, and reschedules could become extremely difficult especially if we run into some bad weather which would limit available dates even more.

I am asking that parents and players please be flexible as we try and work through this ongoing issue.

Coaches should be in contact as we might have to drive and/or carpool to some events.

Cancelling events is a last resort but might become a reality.

Our hope is to minimize the impact as much as possible, but it has become a district level issue that needs to be resolved.

Please bare with us as we work the the district to find solutions and improve transportation for our athletes.

Procedural changes for next years e-collect are already in the works on how to handle transportation paperwork.  This will become be a digital consent form needed for athletic eligibility.  For more on this policy see below:
