Multiple Teams · Volleyball – A Note from Coach McCord – 10/9/18

I want to give a big thank you to all of the parents, players, managers, and coaches in the program for the success of our Volley for the Cure event. In total, we raised $806.12 to donate to the Siteman Cancer Center. This event could not be done without all the hard work from everyone involved in the program, from bringing in baked goods to helping with t-shirt sales. I was blown away with the support for the event. I look forward to an even bigger event next year now that I have the first one under my belt.

We have two events left before our season is over, and I wanted to make sure that everyone knows the plan. On October 18th we will have our senior night. It is a game that we have struggled to get correct on the schedule due to a conflict with arbiter. It is the game that replaces the October 2 game against Jennings that is showing up on the schedule. Jennings does not have a freshmen team. However, JV will start at 4:30 and varsity will start at 6:00. Times are a little later due to parent teacher conferences that night. The clock will start at 5:30, providing time for us to have our senior night ceremonies.

Originally I was looking at November 7th or 8th for our banquet. However, those dates were filled by other sports a few weeks ago. Instead we will have our banquet on Monday November 5th from 7pm-8pm. We will be providing dessert. As a reminder, Holly Smith is putting together a presentation with photos for the program. If you have photos from games or events this year, you can email them on to her at

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Here’s to a strong finish to the season!

Thank you,

-Coach McCord
