The event took place in the CHS Greyhound Room today, 5/16/18, after school around 3:15pm.
High School coaches, family members, friends, teachers and fellow students were all in attendance.
It was a special day as Maggie earned the right to participate in collegiate athletics.
This signing truly is a testament to the commitment of our school, students and community here in Clayton.
“I started running when I was eight. No one in my family ran, but my elementary school had a Girls on the Run team, so I joined.
As soon as I started running, I knew I wanted to keep running.
Joining the cross country team at CHS was an easy decision, and I have had a great four years running at Clayton.
The first time I visited Beloit, my tour guide was a cross country runner. When we went to the Athletic Center, she took me to meet the coach. The second time, I was staying for an overnight visit with a different cross country runner. The team and perspective runners all ate dinner together and hung out together.
The team felt very similar to the Clayton team; open, inviting, and close. I knew that I wanted to join that team.”
