Boys Junior Varsity Golf, Boys Varsity Golf · Boys Golf – A Look Ahead at Districts, Sectionals and STATE

Good afternoon-
Looking at the following week, we have matches after school on Monday (4 PM) & Tuesday (4:30 PM) at Gateway. Some of the players have mentioned they will be gone that week, if that is the case for you, please reply to this email to let us know what days that will be so we can plan accordingly.

Wednesday is the Conference Tournament at Gateway, roster and tee times will be announced later this coming week. Because we (CHS) are hosting, Coach O. and myself have to be at the course well before the start of tee times, so the players who are playing will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the course that day.

Below is information for the State run tournaments we hope to participate in:

District Tournament

Our district tournament is at Raintree Country club in Hillsboro. We (the school) will provide transportation for the players to and from the following events:
District practice round Sunday April 29th 10:00 AM, leave school at 8:30 AM

District Tournament Monday April 30th 8:00 AM, leave school at 6:32 AM

Roster will be determined in the coming days.

Once we qualify out of Districts, the Sectional Tournament is the next Monday, May 7th at Ste. Genevieve Country Club. We will travel to Ste. Genevieve on Sunday, May 6th for practice round and then stay overnight in Ste. Genevieve to play the next day.

Once we qualify out of Sectionals, the State tournament is the following Monday & Tuesday at Old Kinderhook in Camdenton, MO. We would leave that Sunday for a practice round and stay overnight Sunday & Monday. More information is available at the MSHSAA website:

If you decide to attend and will require a cart for medical reasons to get around the course, there is a fairly involved process which is explained on this page:

Almost finally, the CHS Athletic golf tournament is Saturday, May 5th at Gateway. We would love to have you put together a foursome and play! The money earned will go towards replacing aging bags, updating equipment and uniforms, the team just has to reach its $1,000 threshold to earn a full share of the proceeds. If you can’t play, there are sponsorships available that would count towards our team total. Information can be found here:

Also, if you would like to volunteer, here is the sign – up form; we do need one person to volunteer for at least part of the day so if you have the time we would appreciate it!

Finally(!), we are have tentatively scheduled to have our team banquet on Thursday, May 17th at Gateway for the Family Scramble and Awards ceremony, details will be forthcoming.
Thanks as always for your support and enthusiasm, have a great rest of your weekend!

Be the ball,
– Coach Moody
